4 May 2022

Aged 83

I have just received the sad news from Jane's daughter that she "Went Aloft" last Wednesday 4th May 2022.

Jane was the widow of Dennis Tourell, former Staff Commander, and she had served as both Purserette and Passenger Hostess in the 60's.

On 4th May 2022 after a short battle with cancer we sadly lost Mum, Jane Mary Tourell.

Mum had the family beside her, her beloved dog Sky on her bed and the view of her lovely garden right in front of her.

With the support of St Barnabas & amazing carers, we kept a promise made to her when she new what lie ahead which was her wish to stay in her home to the end.

Mum held strong conversations and opinions and this never wavered. It was her wish to have the same send off that her loving husband Dennis, Dad had during the restrictions just over a year ago. Therefore there will be no funeral service and it is her wish that the family are together when she is cremated on 24th May.

So with this in mind please remember Mum as you knew her and remember it is always that time somewhere in the world to have a glass of something, and when you next do please say 'cheers to Jane'

Whilst we have never met some of Mum’s  friends, please know she thought a lot of you and spoke of you all fondly.

If you are in a position to do so, please, please support St Barnabas and make a donation in my Mums name. It is not until you need them do you realise how important they are to so many families.

Now you are together again with Dad, yes we will look after Sky for you!

Love you Mum
