Started out as a deck apprentice in 1966 on the Clan Macdougall.

Served on various other Clan, King, Bowater and Union-Castle boats up to 2nd Mate then left to do one trip in SAF Marine before ending up in tankers with Mobil.

Retired now and living in the Outer Hebrides.
