Hon. Michael Anthony Rathborne Cayzer was born on 28 May 1920, the son of Herbert Robin Cayzer, 1st Baron Rotherwick, and Freda Penelope Rathborne. He was commonly known by his middle name, Anthony.

On 11 June 1952, he married Hon. Patricia Helen Browne, daughter of Dominick Geoffrey Edward Browne, 2nd Baron Mereworth, and Mildred Helen Egerton.

He passed away in 1990.

Together, Michael and Patricia had three children:

    Linda Kinvara Cayzer, born 28 March 1953

    Roseanne Cayzer, born 10 September 1956

    Verena Brigid Cayzer, born 8 February 1961
