Katherine known as “Rena” crossed the bar” on 9 July 2017 after a long illness.

Rena was born 19 April 1930 in New Monkland, Airdrie, Scotland.

Rena had a career at sea as Stewardess aboard various deep sea and home trade vessels finally with Townsend Ferries. She came ashore in 1986.

Rena’s funeral was held at Seven Hills Crematorium, Ipswich, Suffolk on 8 August 2017. The service was conducted by Rev Brian Percy, a former Merchant Navy Radio Officer.

The hearse was preceded by  a Standard Bearer and Escort of the local Merchant Navy Association.
