BOT Wreck Report for Palala - 1886

Palala had completed only one round voyage to Natal and was making for Portland on her second outward trip when on May 15th, 1886, she ran ashore on Kimmeridge Ledge near Weymouth.

The accident occurred in broad daylight and the eight passengers and crew were rescued without difficulty.

The certificate of the Master, Capt R H Paynter was suspended for 12 months.
