Peter Carter

I sailed with Pete Carter when he was First Officer of the "Winchester Castle", a very popular man and then (1959) one of the Company's confirmed bachelors.

Some time later he surprised everyone by getting married and leaving the sea.

Somewhat of a larger than life character you never had to look far to find Peter, you heard his laugh long before seeing him!
