1940 Clan Line appointed managers

1941 Empire Song was a 9,228 GRT cargo liner which was built by Greenock Dockyard Co, Greenock. Launched on 18 June 1940 and completed in October 1940. Struck a mine on 9 May 1941 in the Gibraltar Narrows and sank while a member of Convoy WS 58 as part of Operation Tiger.

Empire Song SS was a British Refrigerated Cargo Steamer of 9,228 tons built in 1941 for the Ministry of War Transport (managers Cayzer Irvine & Co).

The ship left the Clyde with munitions bound for the Middle East but sank off Malta on the 9th May 1941 after striking a mine. 18 crew killed.
