I am in possession of a menu dated June 11th 1948 for the R.M.M.V. Stirling Castle. This was passed to me by my mother together with other historical family documents.

My Grandfather, George Baker was a saxophonist in a number of orchestras and bands, and I have reason to believe that the menu is connected.

Thank you for your kind reply. By the way I should have told you his full name:

George Frederick Baker (Born 9th April 1911, Died 26 March 1981).

My mother tells me that as a little girl, she remembers his trips to South Africa on the Stirling Castle predominantly because as a result she got to see her very first banana, brought back from the sunnier climate!

George Frederick Baker
