Your name and email details have recently been passed to me by Mike Morley. Mike and I were contemporaries from the late 50s to about the mid 60s. Like Mike, I met my wife while we were both working for the company at sea.

My first ship was Capetown Castle and in February 1960 we carried Harold and Lady Dorothy Macmillan from Cape Town to Las Palmas - after he had made his famous “Winds of Change” speech.

I joined Windsor Castle at the fitting out basin in July 1960 at Birkenhead and then sailed on her maiden voyage from Southampton on 18th August 1960. I enclose a copy of a photograph of the Purser’s team taken on board the maiden voyage.

You are undertaking a mammoth task - good luck.
