When on the Pendennis Castle the pursers staff who were free on a Sunday evening had a pre dinner drinks gathering which developed into something know as choir practice.

We were all dressed up and had a parish news letter every week, when all our secrets were there for everybody to read.

I made all the costumes on an old fashioned hand machine. It also came in useful for mending flags.
