19 July 1917 sunk in collision off Gibraltar; loss of 6 lives.


Under the command of Captain J E McLean she was run down by the Italian steamer EUROPA when 60 miles SW of Cape Spartel on passage Cardiff for Gibraltar.


As it was wartime both ships were sailing without lights.


Her third engineer Mr N Peacock was killed by the collision and five Lascar seamen drowned.
