Died

February 2019

Elfrida Heath, Founder of CLAC (Cambridge Language and Activity Courses).

She passed away in her sleep in February 2019.

Elfrida was 79 and lived in Cambridge.

It was Elfrida’s vision in 1985 to have a truly international summer school, where British children would mix with children from as many other countries as possible to enhance English speaking and cultural understanding.

To this day, 34 years on, British children still attend the courses each summer and over 50 nationalities have attended CLAC.

Elfrida directed the Junior Course for 8 – 12 year olds until her retirement in 2007.

She had an endearing personality,  warm, witty and fun, making her much loved by her staff and students alike.

Elfrida was a very keen supporter of the Union-Castle Purser’s Reunions.
