Cecily Brownlee (formerly Baker, nee Froehlich)

28 November 1934 to 25 July 2014 has stood her last watch.

Indomitable and unsinkable, you were always an inspiration and a level-headed refuge in the sometimes madding storm of childhood.

Travel well, Auntie Cec.

Strength and Light to Ashley, Annie and families.

Cecily married Raymond Baker whom she had met when they served together in Athlone Castle. She was widowed in 1963

Under her subsequent married name she authored and had published her account of life at sea with Union-Castle entitled “All at Sea with Union Castle”.
